The Seven Chakras

The seven Chakras

In a previous post, I briefly explain the primary chakras system of the human body. Today I will elaborate a little more on this very complex energetic structure of the body. The shape of a chakra is like a funnel pointing toward the body. One in the front and one opposite in the back except for the crown and the root chakra. Those two only open to the top and the bottom of the body. Ancient Vedic literature describes them as if looking down a lotus flower. Depending on if you are male or female, your chakra will rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. We should also note that not all of them do rotate in the same direction. Each has its own color, symbol and generally governs an organ in the body,

1. Root Chakra

The symbol for the root chakra is the four-petal lotus, and its color is red. The location of the root chakras is between the genitals and the anus. It influences the Bones, teeth, nails, legs, arms, intestine, anus, prostate, blood, cell structure, kidneys, and adrenal gland. The air element governs it. The purpose of the root is to Link the individual with the physical world. When in balance, the person is calm and does not feel any tension. The root chakras rotate clockwise in women and clockwise in men

2. Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakras also refed as the spleen or navel charka, have the six petals Lotus for symbol and orange for color. We spot the sacral chakras slightly above the pubic area, below the navel. It influences the reproductive organs, kidney, bladder, pelvic area, sperm, all liquids and fluids of the body. The element water governs the sacral chakra, and it is the center for sexual energy, creativity, and pure emotions. It stimulates desire and rejuvenates the body. It rotates counterclockwise in women and clockwise in men.

 3.Solar Plexus Chakra

This chakra has for symbol the ten petals lotus, and its color is yellow. As the name implies, it is located at the solar plexus, slightly below the diaphragm and above the navel. It is associated with the Abdomen, lower back, stomach, spleen, liver, digestive system, gall bladder, autonomic nervous system, and pancreas. Fire is its governing element. At this level is where the personality is formed. Feeling and being are integrated here. It has a clockwise rotation in the female and counterclockwise in the male.

4. Heart Chakra

We find the heart chakra in the center of the chest. It has the 12 petals lotus as the symbol and is green in color. The body parts associated with it are the heart, upper back, rib cage, chest, skin, circulatory system, lower lungs, abdominal cavity, and thymus gland. Its purpose is to allow the ability to love without fear and self-consciousness. Air is its governing element. The rotation is counterclockwise in women and clockwise in the opposite sex.

5. Throat Chakras

Seated, on top of the collar bone in the throat area, the throat chakra has the 16 petals lotus as a symbol. Dress in light blue. It influences the Lungs, vocal cords, bronchial, throat, jaw, neck, thyroid, voice, nape of the neck, and thyroid gland and is governed by the Ether, rotating clockwise in women and counterclockwise in men.

6.Third Eye Chakra

This indigo, 96 petals lotus chakra is located between the eyes. The face, nose, eyes, sinus, cerebellum, pineal, and pituitary gland are the body parts associated with it. This chakra enables the recognition of being. This higher chakra is governed by all the elements spinning counterclockwise in women and clockwise in men.

7. Crown Chakra

Located at the top of the head, the crown chakra influences the whole body. However, some sources argue that it also influences the brain. it is represented by the 1000 violet petals lotus. White is the color associated with the crown. Being governed by all elements and allows the human being to connect with the Divine. Spinning clockwise in the female body, it reverses its rotation in the male.

Since we are, complex being all the correlations between the chakras and different parts are more complex. However, with thousands of years of observation, the above gives us a place to start in our quest to resolve imbalances in the body.

  1. I read your first blog post on Chakras and this one is a great follow up. This helps put it into perspective. I would love to read about the emotional connections to our chakras; what happens when in balance and out of balance as well as what to do to balance each. Thanks so much
